Achievements Major Atom Blackhawks Clinch the Season Title
Outstanding sportsmanship, ability and commitment to compete are the cornerstone of any good program whether it’s hockey or hackey sack. To highlight those facts are the hometown boys from the major atom level, who completed their season with 24 wins, 4 losses and 2 ties awarding them 1st spot in the final standings as they prepare for the playoffs. Throughout their regular season they allowed only 37 goals in 30 games to their credit. In addition to a wildly fantastic regular season, they also competed in and won two away tournaments at their level and to build on that momentum they also competed in Sudbury’s classic ‘AA’ tournament losing those games by only a goal each Major Bantam Gloucester Blackhawks win the Osgoode Rideau Don Mott Memorial Tournament
The Major Bantam Gloucester Blackhawks brought home the cup in the Osgoode Rideau Don Mott Memorial Tournament, Feb 7-10. The Blackhawks' solid play and commitment from every member of the team enabled them to go undefeated throughout this tournament. The tournament started with an all-round team effort during the round-robin portion of the tournament; the Blackhawks defeated the Char-Lan Rebels, the Cooksville Phantoms and the Nepean Raiders to finish first in pool 2. In the quarter-final against the North Dundas Demons the Blackhawks showed their true grit, falling behind 3-0 in the first period, the Hawks scored 5 unanswered goals. The semi-finals featured the Blackhawks against the local town favorite the Osgoode- Richmond Senators. The Hawks defeated the Senators 3-1 in a defensive affair. In the championship game, the Hawks faced the Kanata Blazers who also qualified for the final by defending the Cumberland Barons in a very physical game. Kanata jumped out early by taking a 2-0 lead, but the team remained focused and came back in the second and exploded with four unanswered goals forging onward to victory. The team's determination and heart pushed them to come back and win the game 4-2. The entire team worked together to complete this tournament win. Congratulations on a great team effort. The Major Atom Blackhawks took top prize down in Skaneateles New York the weekend of Dec 7-9. After a long drive, the Hawks, looked a liitle lacklustre in their first game, but still managed to pull off a 3-3 tie against a spunky Monroe County. After a good night's rest, the Blackhawks came out flying, shutting down Rochester 9-1 and Nepean 5-1. The next morning, the semi-final, saw the Major Atom Blackhawks face off against the Minor Atom Blackhawks in a highly anticipated contest, with the Major Atom team advancing to the final. In seesaw battle against Skaneateles, with great action on both sides, the Blackhawks prevailed with a 2-0. Go Hawks Go! Gloucester Blackhawks Major Bantams Win Hershey Tournament
The Gloucester Blackhawks Major Bantams went
undefeated this past weekend to win the Hershey Tournament in
Smiths Falls. The team went through the tournament claiming victory after
each game. During the round robin, the Hawks overcame Pembroke 3-1 in a
very exciting game and defeated Perth 9-0. After finishing first in the
round robin, the Hawks received a bye to the semi-final where they
defeated Cornwall 4-1. In the championship game, the Hawks faced the
Russell River Rat who had gone through the tournament with a clean record.
The game went to overtime, the winning goal was scored by Joey Mah 21
seconds after the start of the overtime period. The Gloucester Blackhawks
Major Bantam won the Tournament and the dedicated fans (parents) went
nuts!! Blackhawks Go Cross-Border Shopping and Bring Home the Goods!!!
They did it! The Major Peewee Blackhawks travelled on Black Friday and invaded the NY minor hockey scene during the American Thanksgiving weekend to capture the Skaneateles Peewee Challenge Championship title and trophy. With a 6-2 Final win over the Auburn, NY team, the Blackhawks sealed the deal and secured the prize. The Blackhawks won the semi-final 5-3 earlier on Sunday against Saratoga, earning the coveted spot for the final showdown at 2:30. The team went undefeated 5-0 in this tournament, and this was the team's very first tournament of the season, with the next one coming soon - Dec 7-9 - in Napanee! Great performance for a team with the wind in its sails. Go Blackhawks Go! Blackhawks Dominate in Harold Hamm Tournament
The Blackhawks had an outstanding Remembrance Day experience at the Harold Hamm tournament in Manotick. All of the Blackhawk teams that entered the tournament made it to the playoff rounds. The minor bantam and minor atom teams each won championship honors, while the minor peewee and minor midget teams both made it to the semis. Congratulations Blackhawks!!!. Minor Atoms Strike Early!
The Minor Atoms kick-started their season
by winning the 2007 Toronto Avalanche Championship.
